Project Overview
One of four venues that will comprise the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts is the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. This facility provided a new state-of-the-art performance space for The Dallas Opera, Texas Ballet Theater, as well as being used to present Broadway shows and numerous other performing arts and touring productions.
The construction of the centers parking garage features 65,000 cubic feet of Type 19 Geofoam with Perform Guard® as an engineered fill. The lightweight Geofoam solution was selected by the engineer to minimize the load on the garage roof deck.
Geofoam with Perform Guard solved another problem at the site: potential structural damage to the Geofoam caused by termites. Geofoam with Perform Guard is treated with an EPA Registered additive to provide protection against termites.
